Now, if you thought the light meter crude - this is REALLY base. The
"sensor" consists af two wires that are close, but not touching. When it rains,
the water bridges the wires allowing a current ti flow. The change in resistance is
detected as a drop in voltage, and converted to a rain or "wettness" level
between 0 for dry and 9 for "head for the hills".
Because the thing still registers wetness not rain - it will give a reading long after
the rain has stopped. In fact, until the sun dries out the sensor surface - bit like our
